Waskesiu National Park

We go to Waskesiu every year and did so again this year for a weekend. The weather was beautiful! We managed to escape the rain until we were packing up to leave. . .Yes!!! The beach is beautiful, and the campground is gorgeous! The kids explored, trying to hit squirrels with no success. Malia found a stick that looked like a gun and was pretending to shoot. . .notice the flower in her hand. . .hmmm, that is an odd combination!
I love cooking, especially when on holidays simply because there are no demands. We enjoyed one of our all time favorite Mennonite meals, rollkuchen and watermelon (rabooze). The rollkuchen are so very yummy when they are warm and dipped in syrup!

Once again we got to see elk. Even little ones!

P.S.
I'm hoping my posts will help Kathy feel a little less homesick! Miss you guys!!

Roll Kuchen... the summer staple! We have always wanted to go to this lake, but have never tried it.
